Individual Play or 'Battle of the Sexes' play
Who will be crowned the cleverest, the king or the queen? With one contestant at each player location, the host asks easy questions at a fast pace. The host uses the remote control to record the scores on the digital readout.

Team play
Line up an equal number of contestants behind each player position (relay style) and ask the first two BuzzOff contestants a question. The contestant who buzzes first and answers correctly, stays in the game and moves to the back of the line. The contestant who did not buzz, or answered incorrectly, drops out of the game. Continue until one team has no players left.

BuzzOff Brain Game
Someone is nominated as the Brain and stands at one of the player locations. Any number of players (challengers) can try to defeat the Brain. They stand in a line (relay style) behind the other player position . 
If the Brain buzzes first and answers correctly, he/she is awarded a point and the challenger is out of the game.
The Brain is declared the winner when he/she accumulates say 3 points (or what ever you decide).
If the challenger buzzes first and answers the question correctly, the Brain goes out of the game and the successful challenger takes his/her place as the new Brain.
If the Brain buzzes first and answers the question incorrectly, he/she is out of the game and the challenger takes his/her place as the new Brain.
If the challenger buzzes first and answers the question incorrectly he/she is out of the game.
If  the challenger and the Brain both 'Pass', then only the challenger is out of the game and is replaced by the next in line.
The Brain does not gain points when the challenger answers incorrectly. Nor does the Brain need to answer the question after the challenger has failed.
